Joseph received his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1989. He also received awards for academic achievement in the course of completing that degree. He articled with one of the leading criminal defence lawyers in Canada. His practice has grown to involve the representation of individuals, corporations and partnerships in a wide range of forums including all levels of criminal and civil courts in Ontario and other provinces and administrative tribunals such as the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Among the many areas of litigation Joseph has been involved in as counsel are criminal tax evasion, criminal fraud, bawdy house and gaming charges under the Criminal Code, criminal organization charges under the Criminal Code, civil actions where damages are being claimed against the government and police for abuse of process, abuse of public office and malicious prosecution and seizure of property under civil remedies legislation and the Criminal Code. He also acts as counsel to clients in complex civil and commercial litigation and actions commenced to recover assets that have either been stolen, converted or misappropriated. Joseph has appeared as amicus curiae in the Ontario Court of Appeal.
